Hi @elbowroomapps. Yes, you are right. I had started the post asking about Superawesome and its morphed into some angst about Agecheq.

“AqeCheq appears to have a REST API interface and that can be used with Starter, Basic and Pro. On the AgeCheq page that you linked to, there is a button right below the video “DOWNLOAD THE SDK”. If you download these files you will get a CoronaSDK sample project that is 100% Lua code that demonstrates how to use the service”

That is really good news if i can use their SDK with starter - Pro license.
