More Crashes After Updating to Solar2D 2025.3716

All my apps have had a User-perceived crash rate below 0.7%. Recently, I updated some of my apps to the latest version of Solar2D (2025.3716), and over the last three days, I’ve seen a 5-7% increase in the User-perceived crash rate in those updated apps.

These data are for Android; I haven’t checked iOS yet.

I had the same issue, so I temporarily rolled back to version 3714. I’m now waiting for the next build version. I believe that, contrary to Google’s statistics, users are not actually experiencing crashes. There are no one-star reviews, and everything seems very calm.

I fixed something last night. It’s possible it was the same issue. Hard to infer much from a generic “it crashes”, though.

(It’s also possible I found the half-screen web thing, though if so I don’t know why. Fixed something else as mentioned in the 3713 / HTML thread. I had noticed the problem you describe, at some point, and didn’t see it resurface afterward on the tests I did; however, maybe it was unrelated and I missed the projects and / or circumstances that were trouble.)

Well, I should add that a friend of mine has been playing one of my updated games, and one of the crashes he has experienced is that sometimes (not always), when he requests a Rewarded video, the app closes. However, this didn’t happen in previous versions ( with Solar2D 2024.3712 ).

Hey @Scott_Harrison, please follow this thread. After updating some of my apps to Solar2D 2025.3717, they are experiencing a high number of crashes.

In one of my apps that has experienced these crashes, Google shows these details:

Your user-perceived crash rate is particularly high on devices with Vulkan version: Unreported Vulkan version

expand_less

Your user-perceived crash rate on devices with Vulkan version: Unreported Vulkan version (9.40%) is significantly higher than your overall user-perceived crash rate (2.28%) over the last 7 days. These devices represent 17% of your total installs. Reduce user-perceived crashes on these devices to improve your overall user-perceived crash rate.

I replied to another similar thread about this, have patch coming in next version
