Move a character

Hi,

the first thing i got to say is that, english is not my first language. So, if you can’t understand something. Please, let me know.

i’m having some issues to develop with corona and hope you guys can help me.

I wanna develop an game, that the player has to move a character. I saw some tutorials, wich show how to animate sprites. But, i don’t want that the sprite can move by himself. I want the player move him.

So my question is, how i implement this? Do i have to create a directional buttons and set x and y to the sprite when the player press the button? And how i will change the sprite when he press?

Anyone have any code to show me? or could just try to explain me.

So this is it, i’m just starting with corona. Maybe that is a fool question for you, but not for me.
I hope you can understood what i tried to say, even with my beginning english.
