Is there any legal issue for using movie screenshots in an app? In copyright matters, I mean.

Assuming you’re in the USA: Yep. The MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) is vicious in their copyright protection enforcement.

I’m assuming that there are educational fair use implications and possible editorial uses that would be okay, but almost any other use will certainly pose risks.
