Hello my name is Aroldo Carvalho, am a part time developer, I have used other game frameworks to develop my apps and games, such as MOJO, GL Basic, Monkey, Pyro and Monkey2.
For a while I tried to switch Corona, but the license was too expensive to justify the investment on my hobby. Now that Corona is more accessible I decided to make the move, as a result I developed an App that is Called 2018 Russia World Cup, that will help soccer fans follow this awesome competition that happens every 4 years.
The scores on the group phase will be automatically updated from my website.
On the Round of 16, Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, Dispute for Third Place and Final will have the country name and flag as well as the scores automatically updated too, for this I used the JSON API, and implemented some PHP / my SQL on my Web Site.
I also included a map the shows the stadium location, and the user can interact with it and explorer it in Hybrid mode.
I also implemented the APPODEAL Plug-In, this is the first time I use this kind of monetization method.
I encourage everyone to use Corona, it is definetely a platform for rapid app and game development.
So far I am happy with the progress I made with Corona
My app should be available soon and I will let you know.
The next steps are: release it on the Play Store and make the app localizable for countries that speak Spanish and Portuguese. Right now only English.
