It would be helpful if Ansca could find a way to authorize registered developers to use the Corona SDK on multiple machines. I realize the software industry has traditionally used a per-machine model, but in a situation where you’re also authorizing individuals – via Ansca’s servers and Apple’s registered developer accounts, it just seems unnecessary to require a second $99 for the convenience of being able to compile on a different machine.

It is possible to de-authorize a computer by going into the preferences. Currently the Licensing is such that each machine is tied to a username.
This is a feature that we’re looking into however and we’ll keep you posted. [import]uid: 5 topic_id: 272 reply_id: 353[/import]
Actually, Apple’s developer accounts can be shared across many individuals, but Apple’s developer program isn’t designed to make money on program fees, but rather to drive iPhone hardware sales by attracting developers to the platform.
Personally, I’m a big fan of Adobe’s standard terms of two machine installs per individual license, but obviously we’d need to come up with a way of doing that that didn’t simply reduce our revenues by 50%. Adobe’s solution to that specific problem is “charge $2000 for CS4 and don’t worry about it”, but I don’t think that option is really open to us

Related to this, consider something like a “player” so that others could test the app in the simulator without needing a license. [import]uid: 4366 topic_id: 272 reply_id: 654[/import]
Its something that has been requested in the past and is something we’re definitely investigating. [import]uid: 5 topic_id: 272 reply_id: 656[/import]
