Munchie! New Game

Hi Everyone,

I’m pleased to announce we’re in final Beta and would like to invite you all to look at our site / video and give feedback.

This is my first Corona Labs game and we had basically no budget ($3000.00) but I think we achieved the old movie term “All the money goes up on the screen”.

I’d love to hear any feedback about the game, site, styles, etc… I’m trying to get the game released to Amazon, Barnes and Nobles, and Google Play stores in the next 2-3 weeks with follow on builds for iOS products in about 4-6 weeks.

It’s run very well on all devices (tablets, phones, nook, kindle, etc…) we’ve tested on with no code changes, which is really a testament to Corona’s hard work. It tickled me no end to put the Android compile on a friends new Galaxy III and watch everything run like a champ.

Technical details:

120 levels plus a hidden shop.
Target sale price will be $0.99 (includes all 6 worlds / 120 levels).
18-19 mb download depending on target.
Uses scene API.

Built with Corona API, Glider, and the x-pressive libraries (Text Candy and Widget Candy).
All I/O done in JSON / LUA table containers (including the maps).
A* Pathfinding in LUA is very optimized, including load throttling, priority overrides, bad path lists (for doors), dynamic flushing (for when map changes in real time), etc…

Entire project took 24 weeks from “These devices look cool to code on…wonder how that works” to “Ready to Publish”.

Feedback on how to best market this game would also be much appreciated!
