My Build Only Works On My Home Computer

My app runs in the simulator just fine on my home computer.  I build it and run it in Xcode simulator and it works just fine. I am using build 2013.1076.

I’ve tried running the simulator on two different machines – one Mac and one PC.  Same builds (2013.1076) but I get a ton of errors.  The tab bar widget was the main culprit.  It didn’t like my height and width settings.  It also wouldn’t work without the “label” format even though theAPI Doc says it’s optional!   Then the simulator didn’t like the display.newRetinaText API.   I finally “fixed” all the errors, now I just get a blank screen with no hint of anything wrong.

I tried to demo my app for my client on Friday.  That was a disaster!  Thankfully, they were understanding and were fine with my GotoMeeting demo on my home machine instead.

Like I said: same builds on all machines (2013.1076).  I am registered, licensed and paying Corona user.  But the app I built only runs on my home computer.  Guys, what gives?

So the old widgets don’t work with the new build?  Hmmm, thanks for changing that the morning I demo’d the app for a client.  That explains why my app doesn’t work with the new build.  I gotta say it stinks that I didn’t know the old widets would work anymore.  I would have rescheduled my demo if I knew.  Yes, I read the blog and newsletter.  But I became a user and subscriber AFTER the initial announcement was made.

But I do want to thank Jay from Mastering Corona SDK.  He has the announcement FRONT AND CENTER on his training site.  Thanks, Jay.

Anyways, close topic and sally forth.

Hi Dave,

As a side note, the old Widgets 1.0 were open-sourced (some time ago) and the memo was published in various places (on the blog, in the forums as a pinned post, etc.). If you want to use them, you’re welcome to. Sorry for the inconvenience; we should have made this crystal-clear, and I apologize that it caused you some issues.
