If I include cross-app banner in my app, and that banner shows another app, I would expect that app to also show my app.

They are paying you by showing your ad in other apps. From what I understand these types of companies use a certain percentage of traffic for cross promotion and a certain percentage to show paid advertisements. I doubt you get to choose.

Actually, Just2words did show the apprever banner eventually. It was shown only for like 10 seconds after a game ended.
It makes sense; they only claim to need 20% cross-referral rate, and just2words probably have tons of downloads meaning they need to show apprever less often than new apps.
