My thoughts on some requests

Everyone can eat, but still there are certain etiquettes that dictate which spoon and fork and knife, etc. Some can manage that, some cannot. What does that have to do with Corona Forums? Well, let me explain this in a similar form.

I need to pay my bills, they amount to over $1500 per week, please post some cheques.

Do you think that is the correct way? I am sure that none of you would be interested or bothered what I have to pay on a weekly basis (other than for a inquisitive peep) and requesting this way is absolutely not going to get results, is it?

So I’d like to see if someone said, “I need to make this, post some code for this” do they get responses from the community here.

If they do, then please remember that I need to pay my bills too, Please post the cheques to help me achieve this… .

cheers,

I see your point. On other hand, if this were a bicycle forum and someone wrote “I’m learning to ride a bike, please post some tips” I’m sure there would be plenty of responses.

I’m willing to bet most users of this forum don’t consider themselves experts at programming with Corona, and even experts can benefit from seeing actual code examples.

Still, as you allude, there are polite ways to ask for free advice, and there are other ways that will probably be ignored.

So, where shall I send you your check?

Hi Xenon,
since you are one of the patrons sending in a check, …

There is a difference between “post some tips” and “ride it for me”, there are so many users that attempt, lose sleep over code for nights and then they ask, when then ask they are sure of what they really need.

Now, If I were to ask in a similar fashion, I need to have augmented reality in CoronaSDK, please post some code.

BTW, the checks can also be put in through paypal if you like.

cheers,
