My Title Text Seems Too Enlarged For Only Iphone5

I have a title text but for some reason it seems overly enlarged only for the iphone 5. Below is all my coding referring to the title text. Do you recommend I do something to dictate the title text size no matter the device or should I somehow ( I don’t know how) only specify a title text size for iphone 5 only.

[lua]

local title = display.newImage (“TitleText.png”, x, y)

title:setReferencePoint (display.TopCenterReferencePoint)

title.x = display.contentWidth/2

title.y = display.contentHeight/10 - display.contentHeight/8

[/lua]

Thanks in advance!

What does your config.lua look like?

Are you looking at it in the simulator or are you building for device?

Well this seems embarrassing but I never knew what a config.lua file was until now. For the titleText, I didn’t specify any size adjustments but rather I’m importing the picture as is. On smaller devices like the iphones, the title is naturally the right size to span the majority of the screen width (it’s also a easily readable size). On larger devices like the ipad I used the same sized titletext because it’s readable and now makes the screen look less packed because of the large screen width. What I did for other images however is I used display.contentHeight/Width to do some size adjusting dependent on the device being tested on. It seems to work well on the corona simulators but hopefully it won’t end up hurting me in the long run. I also just started reading your article on config.lua for future use.

I’ve been only using corona simulators to run the application. I would try to run it on Xcode simulator but I’m having trouble getting the latest version. If I remember correctly I think I need 10.7.4 in order to get the latest Xcode.

Hi Nate,

Did you locate this guide about Project Configuration? This is the most current available, and we’ll be updating it and adding to it as need be.
