woohoo, awesome! [import]uid: 90610 topic_id: 25318 reply_id: 102269[/import]

Thats pretty cool dude. is your app ad dependant or does it have a free version and paid version? Could you put up a link for it? Im just kinda wondering what kind of ad money a game with half a million downloads can pull in. [import]uid: 143556 topic_id: 25318 reply_id: 102356[/import]

Hi Guruk, I love the UI, do u use any special 3rd party or custom UI code, or just the ones included in Corona? Congrats! [import]uid: 99244 topic_id: 25318 reply_id: 102358[/import]

Wow, a great concept executed perfectly, it sounds like. Congrats Chris!

P.S., and why didn’t I think of that idea? I’m perfectly suited to come up with the very same concept, but somehow it never crossed my mind. Congrats again, Chris! [import]uid: 67217 topic_id: 25318 reply_id: 102284[/import]

hi friends and colleges

about the code its pure Corona without 3rd party code.

worked with director, tableview and socket (for backup through network)
the app is available on iTunes:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/my-days-period-ovulation/id470179308?mt=8

and Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chris.android.mydaysfree

InMobi as AdNetwork free version and paid version is without Ads (not other difference)

I have made that app already 3 years ago native on Android. Corona did helped me now a lot to make a new version for iPhone and Android. The Income for the iOS Version is around 10 !Times better than for Android. I also guess i have lots of ppl who went from android to iPhone and especially searched for the app. In the first 3 Years the Android app was without any ads and income, that got me lots of users.

the ratings are right now around 4.8 from 5

i just made that app first for my wife and can advice anyone to keep things as simple as possible, always try to make your app so no explanation is needed if possible.

thats for now.

Hi Guruk, for tableView did you use the new Widgets or UI? I’m looking into widgets and I already see bugs in the WidgetDemo that comes with Corona. I’m surprised how easy it is to break in the simulator. I just switch tabs right after I press a row. Thanks! [import]uid: 99244 topic_id: 25318 reply_id: 102620[/import]

@guruk: First and foremost congrats on your app success! That’s great to see a “none” game succeeds like that.

I also note that you charge $4.99 on the app store! It may appears to be too much for some but the app is VERY useful and people are responding to that. So congrats on getting that much money for the app. Few apps can!

I am curious if you could share the % of revenue (NOT the revenues) between paid and ads version on the Apple store. It will give us a sense of how well apps free vs. paid do.

I will think ads will do poorly versus paid but i have no idea really. The percentage probably depend on the type of apps so it will need to be taken with a grain of salt but it would add some extra data points. You are the perfect person to answer this since you have a lot of downloads, you use both paid/free model and your price point is high (congrats on all of those:)

Obviously, if you rather not share that would be completely fine!

Cheers.

@Naomi: Naomi, Naomi! How could you miss this type of apps?!! ha! ha!..just kidding! [import]uid: 100814 topic_id: 25318 reply_id: 106310[/import]

hi…

i looked for a homepage of your company (lairdgames)… did not found
for sure i came interested who you are.

the % is really kind a 20/1 (ads/purchases) … that means i make 20 times more with ads than by purchase
with the original app… but the original is not in the google play store as they don’t support checkout in romania / egypt where i most time.

the newer version (corona)… is around 3/2 (ads/purchase) as i could put the paid app into the AppStore…

yeah, its quiet a unique app… and to be true was bit disappointed as it did not came
a staff pick or in new & noteworthy… even carlos was surprised when i told him about… seems the staff is more focused on games :frowning: … maybe one of them read this and will give it a chance again /smile/

Thanks a lot Chris for sharing! Those app store numbers are surprising to me but very good to know.

Yes I would think your app should be picked by the staff at Ansca for no reason that it can change people’s lives!!! (you cannot tell that much about most apps!) Very useful app indeed. Maybe they need two categories. Games/utilities.

Anyway thank you for sharing that info. I appreciated it very much. I will do the same when I get to that point.

Mo.

ps: LairdGames is my upcoming 1 person “studio” but as you can see I am far from being done on the marketing side of things. Spending instead my time right now following some bugs in very deep holes in my app! [import]uid: 100814 topic_id: 25318 reply_id: 106322[/import]
