I have an app working on iOS that loads (from the phone) an MP4 video and plays it. However, on compiling for Android I get a black screen, no error message. Tested on Galaxy S2 running ICS and HTC Desire HD running Gingerbread.

This is only available for iOS;
"The native.newVideo API is only available for iOS devices and is part of the Daily Builds starting with build 730. It is not available in the Release Build (704)."

Silly me, I was using the new documentation here:
http://docs.coronalabs.com/api/library/native/newVideo.html which doesn’t mention the fact that it’s iOS only. Unless it’s in invisible ink.
So the new documentation is less accurate than the old. Marvellous.
Still, it was only a few wasted hours. Frankly, development is hard enough without being lead up the garden path by inaccurate documentation - especially when that documentation was specifically put in place because the old documentation was inaccurate!
CoronaLabs, please have some respect for Android users - if you don’t support a feature (and it’s hard to understand why native video isn’t a priority, especially with Kindle Fire and Nexus 7) then please at least tell us!

Hey Kevin-
You’re absolutely right, it is entirely unclear on the page you linked to. I’ll be sure to bring this up so it can remedied. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 28245 reply_id: 114278[/import]
Thanks Peach,
I’ve calmed down a bit now. Such a pity though, I’ve got a cracker of an app to port from iOS once video is supported. [import]uid: 95579 topic_id: 28245 reply_id: 114304[/import]
