I came across two by Robert Lerusalimschy titled “programming in lua”. The only thing is one is the first editon that came out in 2001 and its free and the 2nd is the newest one and around 30 bucks…obviously i’d rather go with the free one i can download but has the language changed at all since the first was released? do you think that one would be ok for a beginner? I’m not familiar with those books but the older edition is probably fine. That is, I’m guessing the older edition is just as good as the newer edition, but I don’t know how good that book is.

Ive looked at both and the overall format looks the same and how the content is delivered so im sure there are some addons hence the 2nd book but for someone who doesnt know too much about it im thinking it will be ok.
