I’ve had a couple NOOK customers write to me saying they’re not able to hear my apps’ audio on their NOOK devices. We figured out that even though their devices’ settings allowed for Media audio to be played when the device is muted, my apps’ audio still wasn’t being played. However an older app of mine was able to be heard. Is there some recent change to Corona that makes it so our apps’ audio isn’t recognized by a NOOK as media? I’m not aware of any changes affecting audio, but are you using the same audio format in both the working and non-working app? Are they encoded the same (44khz, vs 11khz)? [import]uid: 199310 topic_id: 36372 reply_id: 144473[/import]
Yes, my apps use the same audio format and were encoded the same way. The audio actually does work on the device. The problem is the Nook stays muted even if the user’s audio settings are set to allow Media audio. The user has to go into their Nook’s settings and turn off Mute, and when they’re done with the app they’ll have to turn Mute back on. A woman wrote to me saying it’s not a huge deal since the app still works properly, but it is an annoyance since she doesn’t need to do this for her other apps which contain audio.
