New LaunchPad Analytics feature: Remove unwanted apps!

We just released a new feature in the LaunchPad Dashboard. You can now remove unwanted apps from Corona Analytics.

You may have noticed the Dashboard navigation in the left column growing as you’ve built more and more apps–every app you build with a distribution profile (including Ad Hoc) gets added to your list of apps. Now you can click a button to remove them!

If you hover over an item in the left column, you’ll see a red X icon come up. Click it. The item will be removed from the left column. If you want to get it back, just click “Removed Items” to see a list of everything you’ve ever removed. Hover over an item and you’ll see a green arrow icon. Click it and it will pop back into the left column with the rest of your apps. The apps under “Removed Items” will always be there. They will never be deleted and data will still be collected, so you can check in on them if you need to and still leave them under “Removed Items”. (If you want data to stop being collected, you have to add launchPad = false to your config file.)

We hope this helps those developers who’ve been busy building lots of apps. …More features coming soon!

Enjoy!

Excellent! Great feature, thanks! [import]uid: 40033 topic_id: 17932 reply_id: 68452[/import]

Awesome! Thank you for this new feature!!

EDIT: I just went ahead and removed everything, but on my Dashboard home page, they all still show up. Also, when I click on Analytics section, it shows the very last item that I have removed. I can live with having one last removed item showing under Analytics section, but it sure would be nice not to see all the ghost builds showing up on Dashboard home page (when scrolling down to the Analytics section…)

Hi Naomi,

Thanks for the feedback. You’re right the items that you removed shouldn’t show up on the Dashboard home page. I think that’s a piece we need to take care of it. I’ll take a look at it right now, in fact.

And I think you’re right about what shows up on the Analytics page if you’ve removed everything. It should show a message that says there’s no data to report, rather than showing data from something that’s been removed.

Thanks!
Gilbert

Thanks, Gilbert. I appreciate you looking into it.

We just posted an update! The LaunchPad Dashboard home page no longer shows apps that have been removed.

Also, if you remove all the apps on the Analytics page, you will no longer see any data by default when you return to that screen. (It was choosing an app from the “removed” area to show something by default, which didn’t make sense especially with the “removed” items being hidden.)

Thanks!
Gilbert

Gilbert,

Would it be possible to get the ability to deactivate the collection of data through the dashboard?

If I understand correctly, I would need to do a new build, that has launchPad = false in my config files, to stop collecting data.

I have removed all the nonsense and test builds from the dashboard, but I don’t want to have to build again just to stop the collection of data. [import]uid: 5317 topic_id: 17932 reply_id: 68520[/import]
