[New Release] Color Grid, iOS version, 64 paid downloads in the first day

Hi,
We’ve just released Color Grid on Apple’s appstore and have got 64 paid downloads in the first day.
Is this a good news or not?
Could you share your first day’s sale data?

Btw, here the link for Color Grid:

Sounds like a result.
You say it’s not just another colour matching game but … if I wanted a colour matching game it looks like the kind of thing I’d buy.
As a ‘new release’ it gets some attention due to the release date.
Word of mouth, reviews, and advertising will contribute to it’s long term earning potential.

Congrats Khanh, can you give us some insight on how you made the game? Did you use the sample code for match 3 found in the code exchange and how long did it take you to finish this? Graphics looks good! :slight_smile:

@khanh.dq,

You will see a spike in the downloads every time a product is released or an update posted. Expect to see the sales drop off over the first week or two, unless you have some/all of the following:

  • Get listed in a Top section (Top 25, New and Noteworthy, etc)

  • Promote your app (Cross promotion, reviews, paid ads)

  • Get Ansca to feature your app. This is a HUGE boost to sales

  • Add social notifications

Social notifications using Facebook and Twitter are very easy to add and if people who download your game take a moment to post about it, you can have a snowball effect where customers bring in new customers.

Paid reviews do not necessarily guarantee you will recover the cost of the review with additional downloads. However, it is marketing money well spent (IMHO).

Finally, make sure you list your game in the Ansca Showcase. If it gets picked as the App of the Week that will translate into a lot of additional sales. [import]uid: 16734 topic_id: 22077 reply_id: 87717[/import]

@jeff472
Thank you for your suggestions.

@Sid T
No we didn’t. we have a team have used corona for 1.5 years, and this game was completed long time before “match 3” template released.

@KenRogoway
Thank you very much. [import]uid: 9190 topic_id: 22077 reply_id: 88079[/import]

Sorry for borrowing the thread, but where is the match 3 template because I can’t find it in the code exchange? [import]uid: 65840 topic_id: 22077 reply_id: 88083[/import]
