New to Corona SDK

1)I’m a new coder trying to jump into Corona from an art background. I’m curious: what is the structure of a Corona game? Is there one big file, or is the game broken up into several smaller code files?

2)What is the API for touch input from mobile devices? I’m curious as to how you code input in Corona.

3)It seems that the website says that physics are “one-line” to add to objects, but they seem complicated on these forums. How to you add and tweak the properties?

And lastly…

4)How are “actors” (like they call them in Game Salad) done in Corona?

Thank you, I know that’s a bunch of questions to start things off! Thanks!!

If you want to “watch” instead of read, here’s a 1-hour video series by Mark Falkland:

Beyond that, I would suggest a beginner’s book on Corona. The following is very recent and it costs only $4.99.

Other books can be found here, if you get past the beginning aspects of Corona:

If you want to cheat like me , I use level director (www.retrofitproductions.com) to add objects an apply the physic properties, it will then export the lua code for you, I actually learnt quite a lot by doing this. [import]uid: 158620 topic_id: 36003 reply_id: 143130[/import]
