new to daily builds

Hi everybody. After a month testing Corona SDK i finally bought it.
Great development tool!
I have just one question about daily builds right now.
I downloaded the latest stable version of the SDK. Should i download every daily build or just the last one??

Also i would like to know which are the new benefits i have for being a subscriber.
Thanks! [import]uid: 105206 topic_id: 17908 reply_id: 68383[/import]

Download lastest daily build, read release note for next one and if there is any new killer feature download and install. That’s it  [import]uid: 12704 topic_id: 17908 reply_id: 68397[/import]

So I’ve been wanting to do this as well since I recently became a pro subscriber… Well today I bit the bullet and installed the daily build and all of a sudden my retina graphics aren’t showing up! All images and text appear fuzzy as if it’s reverting to the lower resolution images rather than my @2x.pngs.

Anyone else have this problem when upgrading from the last stable build?

p.s. The updated interface is awesome  [import]uid: 47361 topic_id: 17908 reply_id: 68475[/import]

OK. I am new to Corona.

If have already installed 688 version of the daily build. We are up to 695. Does that mean if I installed version 695, I WILL NOT get the changes made from 698 to 695?

I would in effect need to install each one of the daily build? OR I would install 695 only and would get all the changes from 698 onwards?

Daily builds are just that. If you magically received features without needing to get a new build, there’d be no point to having daily builds.

If you always want to be using the “latest” stuff, you’d have to update to a new daily build each time one is released, but that’s really a waste of time. I only update to the latest build if I’m about to ship out a distribution release or the latest build contains a feature or bug fix I need/want. Also, daily builds can and do introduce bugs. Only use daily builds if you need the new features or must have a particular bug fix.

Apps released for sales should only use the last stable version published – it’s good programming form to use the published version and not alpha or beta daily builds for app store products.

I agree with the above, but I’m not sure that’s practical with Corona. “Stable” releases to the public happen way too far apart for it to be feasible. Just be sure to thoroughly test whatever you plan to release. [import]uid: 36054 topic_id: 17908 reply_id: 69933[/import]
