newPickerWheel - columnColor

Hi,

newPickerWheel, the columnColor option doesn’t seem used - it always displays a white color

the rowHeight option similarly, is always set to 40 pixels.

Probably should be set in themes, since they are really dependent on the design of the theme the way newPickerWheel is implemented

Hi Atanas,

This was a bug reported and open since 3/31/2013. See http://forums.coronalabs.com/topic/33313-widget-20-newpickerwheel-columncolor-not-working-in-daily-build-1074/?hl=%2Bnewpickerwheel+%2Bcolumncolor+%2Bnot+%2Bworking

As recently as 12/12 it was said (by Rob) that this bug is in the que to be fixed but its turn has not yet come… It certainly does not speak well for an SDK where you have to wait for 8 months for critical bug fixes.

All the best.

Thanks Ksan,

I didn’t see that thread. I fixed it in widget_pickerWheel.lua and checked it in on github but since we don’t have the latest source on github, no idea what will come about.

Part of the problem is also that the design of the widget relies on the theme background frame as well right now, so you need to use a custom theme or supply your own background frame

Thanks,

  Atanas

Hi Atanas,

Thanks much for fixing this bug and checking it in Github along with other bugfixes and improvements. I certainly hope Corona Labs can evaluate your code asap and incorporate in a release in the near future.

Cheers & thanks,

Kerem

Hi guys,

I’m pushing the engineers to knock off some of these “easier” widget issues this week and next. I’ll remind them again right now.

Brent

Super. Can they also check GitHub and see the fixes checked in by Atanas? Thanks for your continued efforts.

Thanks Brent, I can hear the rushed clickedy clicks now

columnColor seems to be still broken. Does it work for anyone?
