Next features for CoronaCards for WP8 ?

Hello everyone,

First of all, just wanted to mention that we managed to publish our first 2 games on the Windows Phone store, so thanks a lot Joshua and everyone in Corona for the help.

I was wondering now, what are the next features planned for CoronaCards, so I can focus on the features that wont be available.

It was mentioned a while ago that CoronaCards doesn’t support the native.* api. Does this mean that webviews/popup won’t be supported soon (if ever) ?

What about Facebook integration, should I start using their sdk or will there be support for it eventually ?

Last thing, we are using the system.getInfo(“deviceID”) are return a “Not yet implemented” string. Is there an ETA for this info, along with the other entries on getInfo ?

Tapps - if you could list all the features you would like to see, that will help us prioritize. Better yet, if you could add them/vote on them in our feedback tool (using the WP8 category, which I just added), that would be great: feedback.coronalabs.com

One thing I will say - I don’t think we are going to implement Facebook very soon as it’s a moving target and it may be better for developers to tie in via the native/Lua bridge.

Hey David,

I’ll start listing the features there then, thanks.

By the way, one more question. Currently Windows Phone use the “Cards” version of Corona, are you guys planning on “upgrading” it the enterprise version eventually ?

I’d like to see the rest of this:

  • display.* (except .save(), .capture(),.captureBounds(), .captureScreen(), and.colorSample())

The app I’m working on uses .save, .capture, and .colorSample, so I was a bit disheartened when I read that.

Good job, though. I imagine for a game this works great.
