Next public build release schedule

I am currently ready to release my first app on the Starter edition but am delaying due to the bug that causes text formatting issues in Android 4.3 which has now been fixed in the daily builds.

This will also affect almost all Corona apps that have been released on Android in the past that use text (native or custom font) and require a re-build and release to correct.

Is there any news on when the next public build will be released so that this issue can be addressed?

Regards,

Ian.

We’re working on a Public Release and it should be out before the end of the month (barring unforeseen circumstances).

Just to be clear, we didn’t introduce a bug that affected Android 4.3 … 4.3 contained a breaking change related to text objects and we quickly fixed the issue.  Google doesn’t give anyone the opportunity to beta test new releases of Android and when they change the way things work everyone has to scramble to fix their products.

Hi Perry,

Many thanks for the fast reply and the great news that there will be a public fix shortly.

Completely understand that this is an android issue / bug and not Corona’s!

Really appreciate the starter edition and hoping to use my first app as a springboard to the paid edition and the extra features it will bring!

Best regards,

Ian.

I’m glad this question was posted, as I am sure many others including myself have been looking forward to all the new things introduced since the last public release.  I am particularly excited about the photon integration, and just like Ian will be upgrading from Corona Starter Edition as soon I can earn some revenue!  Many thanks.

Any updates about public release? Guys I would like to know if the Corona is compatible with the IOS 7 beta? Thanks!!

Totally understand what you’re saying.

The text-bug was prevending me to publish my app, BUT since yesterday I loaded a custom font and the texts are OK now.

 Good luck with the next public release!

Thank you!!
