Noob question: Force application shut down?

Hi all, I have an app running on my Android Galaxy Tablet.

Currently it does not shut down when I hit the HOME button, but keeps running in the background.

Is there a proper way to force a Corona app to stop? Something equivalent to a System.exit()?

No, there’s not - on Android that is actually the intended behavior.
