Nook Application Rejection

I have pro subscription and i’m using Latest corona build 2014.2266

I have prepared a build for NOOK devices, but they have rejected my application for below reasons:

The application will not install on NOOK Color due to the fact that NOOK Color is FROYO (SDK 8) while NOOK Tablet is based off GB (SDK 10) and NOOK HD/HD+ devices are ICS (SDK 15). Please downgrade to SDK 8 in order for the application to be able to install on all NOOK devices. If you need more clarification please open a ticket.

Failed on the following device(s):

NOOK Color (Froyo) 1.4 [x]
NOOK Tablet (Gingerbread) 1.4.1 [ ]
NOOK HD+ (Ice Cream Sandwich) 2.0 [ ]
NOOK HD (Ice Cream Sandwich) 2.0 [ ]

Result: The application fails to install onto the NOOK Color, due to an older SDK.

Please check and let me know what should i do to resolve it soon.

Thanks In Advance

We change the minimum OS for Android to 2.3.3 in build 2264. This was to support the new AdMob library which requires 2.3.3 (SDK 9) and support various other plugins.  This becomes a hard requirement by Google in a couple of months. I’m a bit confused because at one point they say it failed on all devices, but then they say it failed only on the Nook Color.

I think you can list which devices to support, in which case, you can try to exclude the Nook Color.  Or build with a build earlier than 2264 if you have to support the Nook Color.

Thanks Rob,

Sure I’ll upload build with older version of Corona SDK with android version 2.2 and it should work on Nook Color at least.

But what about others. I’m not getting why they reject it. Please suggest what should i do for other ones.

I would write back to them.  I’ve found the Nook reviewers to be quite responsive in the past with my apps.  Ask them if its only on the Nook Color or if it’s failing on the other devices.  Perhaps they just mis-wrote the message because most of the message is singling out the Nook Color.  In which case, so you can have the latest fixes and features, I would consider dropping support for the Nook Color.  In someway’s this sadden’s me.  My Nook is a Nook Color, so I really can’t use it any more.

Rob

Thanks Rob,

It would be very good for me.

Just got the same exact rejection notice.

I would resubmit disabling the Nook Color.

Rob

Agree, that’s what I did.

So, you mean if i uncheck Nook Color from NOOK application Dashboard, then they will approve my application for all rest three devices.

NOOK Tablet, NOOK HD, NOOK HD+.?

What, if i create build by older version i.e. Android 2.2, then it’ll be approve for all 4- devices?

Please.

Yes.
