Nook for Countries Not Included in their Dropdown?

Hello people -

we have recently registered to the Nook developer program and we were approved. We have a U.S. EIN number, as well.

Anyhow, after the registration, when I fill the account information, only a bunch of countries are available, and not the one where we are currently living in.

Does this mean that the only way to publish to Nook is through a publisher if you do not have a company in any of those countries? How did you do it?

Thanks. [import]uid: 13836 topic_id: 36096 reply_id: 336096[/import]

You said you have an US EIN number, wouldnt the country be USA then? [import]uid: 50459 topic_id: 36096 reply_id: 143401[/import]

Unfortunately no - you can get an EIN also as a foreign entity/company that could be interested in hiring in the U.S., for example. But requesting the EIN I specifically stated the reasons, which were to take advantage of double taxation treaties. [import]uid: 13836 topic_id: 36096 reply_id: 143411[/import]

I’m based in Korea and in the same situation. I emailed them about it an here’s an excerpt from their reply.

…you will need to choose a distributor or colleague that is located in one of the approved countries: US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Germany, and Australia. The list will expand over time, but these are the currently approved countries.

Please see a list of approved vendors on our website https://nookdeveloper.barnesandnoble.com/tools-services/service-providers.html.

If you have a colleague who is in one of the supported countries then please have them fill out the form and act as your financial account person.

Hey there, thanks for your reply.

Yeah, I imagined this was the only way in fact. Well, for the time being I think I will not publish to the Nook store, but it would be nice that this information was more clearly shown in their FAQ. [import]uid: 13836 topic_id: 36096 reply_id: 143898[/import]
