Nook HD + app rejected - Test Case #13 ( Barnes and Nobles)

Hello everyone,

One of my apps was recently rejected due to Test Case #13 by Barnes and Nobles.

Here’s what they sent me, the QA team:

[text]

  • Your application crashes if the device is suspended while running your
application and the orientation is changed before waking the device.

[/text]

This happens on the Nook HD+ only. I have retested the app, and indeed it crashes when the app is suspended. I have no idea how to fix this issue whatsoever.

Anyone out there knows of this issue and how to solve it?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Regards,
Paulo. [import]uid: 75258 topic_id: 35018 reply_id: 335018[/import]

We have the same problem on other Android devices. I’m pretty sure the Corona team is already working on it. [import]uid: 135827 topic_id: 35018 reply_id: 139275[/import]

There is a known issue caused by daily build #996 that causes the screen to go black on any Nook device when transitioning from a portrait screen to a landscape-only Corona app… or vice-versa. It was reported here…

Is the app you sent to B&N built with daily build #996?
If so, then there will be a fix made available later this week.

Hi Joshua,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the app is built with daily build #996. I will just compile it with #993 that way, hopefully, I don’t get the same problem. The app doesn’t require any features that I can’t get from build #993, so that sounds like a better solution for me right now as I wait for the fix.

Thanks again. [import]uid: 75258 topic_id: 35018 reply_id: 139289[/import]

One more thing…
If your app is landscape only and displays the Nook app store dialog via native.showPopup(), then you may run into a known bug where that dialog sometimes takes 10-40 seconds to be displayed. We’ll have a fix for this later this week.

Thanks Joshua for your responses.
I recompiled the app with Build #993 and resubmitted last night. Today, I got a response and they rejected the app again. Except this time with another issue… which I think I might be able to fix(fingers crossed) since it’s Director class related.

Also had myself a Test Case #13 issue with Nook. Was using build 999.
Graphics were also non moving on screen

Have reverted back to 994 and resubmitted in the mean time to see if that helps which I’m sure it will.
