Any news on if there is any work we need to do to support NOOK HD? Do we need to recompile? [import]uid: 41124 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125489[/import]

Got this on an email from the nook developer program - right after the announcement…

Look for a Pass/Fail Report in your email to see if your apps have passed our baseline internal testing and can be distributed on NOOK HD and NOOK HD+. While failed apps must be updated to be available on the new devices, we also strongly recommend that you review apps that have passed to determine whether you need to optimize and re-submit, or to submit new backwards-compatible binaries to ensure the best possible experience for your customers and your business.

Submit new or updated apps by October 15 for maximum visibility when the new devices release to US customers.

I got same message from Nook about apps failing. Do I just need to to rebuild using latest stable build? [import]uid: 14935 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125499[/import]

I just received an email saying that my apps failed validation on Nook HD and Nook HD+: because of a DRM issue:

Please note that your apps listed below FAILED our baseline compatibility testing for the reasons listed:

Ice Math Ninja - Featuring Pookie and Tushka: DRM
Pookie and Tushka Find a Little Piano - Educational Children’s Storybook: DRM

I don’t know if they need to be recompiled with a new version of Corona, but I just resubmitted my apps, and just checked the 2 new boxes that say “support for Nook HD and Nook HD+”.

Not sure if this is enough to create a new DRM. I’ll let you know if it works.

Yeah let us know what happens  - everyone is getting hit with emails. :frowning:

Corona you want to Chime in on this? [import]uid: 11860 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125504[/import]

Same issue with everything failing for “DRM”. I’ve put in a ticket to get a clear answer on this before I take action. [import]uid: 36054 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125507[/import]

Do they tell you if Apps have passed? Because I have an email and it only lists 2 of my 3 apps [import]uid: 8697 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125509[/import]

My email had as a title “New NOOK Devices Test Report” and in the body it had the text I pasted above, listing the apps that failed and at the end of each app name it said “DRM”, so I am assuming that it failed because of DRM issues.

Jroge [import]uid: 96835 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125510[/import]

But my other App also written in Corona is not listed in my email
[import]uid: 8697 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125511[/import]

Its odd - 4 of my 7 apps ‘failed’, 1 with a error 1 (wouldnt start) and 3 DRM (where DRM) was not defined in their list. Of the failed 2 were new (build 840) and 2 were old (build 714). [import]uid: 9070 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125519[/import]

Here is the nook developer list of 'reasons"…

App didn’t launch
2
App crashed/is unstable
3
App doesn’t scale properly/has letter-boxing
4
App has malfunctioning/truncated buttons and/or hitting system menu
5
App doesn’t handle orientation properly
6
“N” button doesn’t take user one-step back/exit app
7
Power key doesn’t suspend application
8
Application doesn’t resume correctly from suspended state
9
Screen doesn’t time out according to settings
10
Touch Elements aren’t responding as expected
11 to 13
Unused
14
UI is not consistent across the two new devices [import]uid: 9070 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125520[/import]

We got email from BN: 3 of 5 our apps failed (there weren’t fail case number). We’ll try to resubmit app using latest Corona. [import]uid: 9058 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125552[/import]

I got fails for 2 apps - one code 1 (failed to start) and the other code 3 (letterbox display - which I would expect given the new screen resolutions and aspect ratios).

I presume that we’ll need a build of Corona specifically for the Nook HD/HD+, as is done for the Kindle Fire’s? Or will the standard Android build work as the Nook is essentially Ice Cream Sandwich?

+1 for DRM rejection

Please note that your apps listed below FAILED our baseline compatibility testing for the reasons listed:

Knots 3D: DRM

In order to make your apps available for distribution on NOOK HD and NOOK HD+, you must address the issues identified above.

Additional notes:

I received a DRM rejection as well. I have no clue what they are referring to(yes i know what DRM stands for). Their doc’s really didn’t explain anything. I sent them a ticket and am waiting for a response. [import]uid: 147305 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125589[/import]

I have about 8 apps rejected for DRM. Does anyone know yet what Nook Means by this rejection? I don’t want to just rebuild everything with the newest corona version if that’s not the problem. [import]uid: 88147 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125608[/import]

I got a reply back from the Nook folks. They are said they were working with Corona on this and no action was necessary on my(or our i guess) part at this time. [import]uid: 147305 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125628[/import]

Just received the same answer from Nook.

I expect someone from Corona to let us know when it could be ready. I know that on the Nook Store there are many Corona based apps and we all really need to have our apps ready for the new tablets as soon as they will be released. I think that the deadline for submitting fixed apps is October 15. [import]uid: 7038 topic_id: 31368 reply_id: 125630[/import]

Hey guys- the team is indeed working with B&N on this; http://www.coronalabs.com/blog/2012/09/26/corona-iosgoogle-maps-kindle-fire-hd-and-nook-hd/
