Not able to installe from TestFlightApp on iOS 8

Does anybody have the same problem testing apps on iOS 8 devices through Test Flight App (the original one)?

I have no problems building my app, for iOS 7.1 or iOS 8.0 (with the latest daily build)

No problem uploading the app to TestFlightApp.com – The original site, not the new version from Apple.

And no problem seeing the app in the install list on my phone.

When I click “Install”, I get a prompt to install the app, and when I accept this, nothing happens.

Before I upgraded to iOS 8 on my device, Safari would minimize, and the app would install.

Now safari does not minimize, and the app download/install process does not start.

Does anybody have the same issue? Or is it working for you with iOS 8 on the target device?

What am I doing wrong?

I’m having the same issue :frowning:

After updating to IOS 8

Yep, same issue here. Can’t find any information on why yet though. If anyone knows anything please share!

Testflight is not working for me on iOS8 devices either. Looks like Apple is forcing iOS8 developers to use their Testflight SDK now but how is Corona going to support this? This looks to be a real pain as to allow external testers (those not part of your development team in iTunes Connect) the beta app has to be approved by Apple (and is not yet available)! Does this apply to every new beta version or what? That will cripple my workflow where I might typically release a new version for testing on a daily basis.

If that’s true, it’s one the more ridiculous updates Apple has hit us with in recent years. What also infuriates me, is there isn’t any information online (that I can find), officially explaining how the new Testflight actually works. All of their support documentation is for older versions.

They sent out an email a few weeks about about the TF iOS 8 details. It should be on the dev centre somewhere too. Every beta requires a “special beta approval process”. It’s also currently only open to internal testers that are part of your dev team. External testers are coming soon.

If this is true, it will be a huge problem for all Corona / TestFlighApp users.  :frowning:

Any official comments from Corona? Rob Miracle? Anybody?

I must’ve missed that email, and you’d think they would have instructions on their dev centre, I can’t find them anywhere though. If someone finds any information, please post a link!

Time to look for TestFlight alternatives. I am sure they will popup in no time. Please post on the forums if you find something viable. Thanks

I’ve asked this on another thread, but we are going to need a bug report for engineering to have to track this.  If someone could take the Hello World sample app and try to go through the process of creating a beta with Apple’s testflight app.  Use it as the required upload project, include this forum thread, any messages you get and some screen shots along the way, we would greatly appreciate it.

Please post the bug ID number back here when you get the email from the bug tracker.

Thanks

Rob

I submitted the bug report for this. Case 35827

I had a tester with “old” TestFlight successfully install a Corona build on his new iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8 today (after not being able to several days ago). I wonder if Apple changed something…

Interesting I just installed the build on my iPhone 5S with iOS 8. The same build I was not able to install a few days ago. It seems it’s working again. Apple or testFlightApp must have changed something in the meantime.

Is this related?

And can someone please explain what’s meant by old TestFlight vs Apple TestFlight?

Sorry, I’ve been too deep in other code to have followed iOS 8 and Apple/TestFlight developments. Did they purchase the company or something? Anyone have a link with info about that?

Thanks

Old TestFlight is referring to http://testflightapp.com, the service that was around before Apple acquired them.  Apple TestFlight would be how Apple assimilated them and integerated it with iTunes connect.
