Not able to test the app on another Ipad

Try this. Get an iPad you’ve not tried to install onto before. Go through the process of getting it registered for deployment. When it comes to installing the app on the iPad, don’t copy the file anywhere, don’t load iTunes. Plug the iPad into your dev machine and try to install the .app onto it using XCode, not iTunes. If that works, try the same with one of the devices which is already registered in the certificate. I always have problems if I have not registered the device in XCode with the “Use for development” button (now on the drop down menu in XCode’s Organiser window.)

Try this link, it’s a bit old now, but should be relevant:

Hey Rishi, sorry, we have a time difference.

Screen sharing is only done for people using premium support and Corona 102, however if you have screenshots you can just post a link here. (Puu.sh is an easy way to host pics online quickly.)

When you deleted your certificates and redownloaded them did you also redownload your provisioning profiles? [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 100251[/import]

Hi Horacebury,

I can copy the app on the iPad which is connected to my machine thru Xcode. But the problem is some of my testing people are placed at different location and for that i have to upload the file on ftp and then they will download and for them the only option is to sync the file with the iTunes!

Thanks for the info link i will check it out.

Hi Peach,

I have redownloaded everything including the certificates and provisioning profiles.

I will download push.sh and how will i inform you that the screen shots are uploaded and how can i share to you only any sharing details for you?

Kindly suggest. In meantime i will download the software.

For time being i was able to share the app generated from corona with my testers thru test flight!

But since we have purchased corona would like to use corona feature directly for sharing test apps!

Thanks

I don’t think there’s a ‘feature’ in Corona which lets you share your app for testing - that’s what TestFlightApp is for. Corona will build your app.

Is your problem effectively solved with TFA? [import]uid: 8271 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 100303[/import]

Hi Horace,

If you see this link
http://www.authorstream.com/Presentation/anscamobile-509082-iphone-provisioning-setup-and-app-store-submission/

See slide no 25.

Apple has a ad hoc distribution certificate and with that we can share our files with 100 devices. So while building the file thru corona if i select that certificate i should be able to share with the activated devices!! Right?

Kindly suggest.

Yes my problem is presently solved with TFA but i wanted a way thru corona builder also!

Thanks [import]uid: 103269 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 100312[/import]

Yes, I agree - but I think that to deploy to those other devices you need to provide the binary in the same way it is deployed to devices from the app store, which, as I understand it, is basically to put it in a directory called Payload, compress and rename to .ipa

I would think that because you’re finding success with that process via TFA the assumption is justified.

I think (and I could be wrong, but the above appears to bear my opinion out) that it is not the .app being emailed and installed via iTunes, it’s the app being supplied in .ipa form and installed via /whatever/ process. ie: the app needs to be in the correct form first. XCode can install .app files, but only XCode… [import]uid: 8271 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 100329[/import]

< XCode can install .app files, but only XCode…>

I can definitely refute that.
3 of my testers I have never met face to face.
I took their UUID and added it to the profiles in iTunes Connect
Regenerated the certificates and added to my machine.

I generate an app to the desktop from the Corona Simulator USING THE DEVELOPMENT not the distribution certificate, and I just email the app or send it on a usb stick.
They drag the app into the Apps section of iTunes while the device is synching, then they drag the icon to a screen, tick the checkbox next to the app icon, and Apply

Worked faultlessly so far.

So, are you building with a distribution profile by accident?

Nope, building with development setup. I don’t know what your issue was, in this case. Glad you got it sorted with TFA though. [import]uid: 8271 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 100335[/import]

Jeff raises a good point RE certificate being used for build, I’d like to know that as well.

You can contact me at peach[at]anscamobile any time, although the individual support I can provide there for this kind of issue is limited. (Simply due to volume.) [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 100381[/import]
