Not able to test the app on another Ipad

Hi,

I have used Kwik plugin to create a children book app. I have bought corona and have also registered for developer account. Have created all the certificates as discussed. Was able to view the app on my ipad which is connected to my iMac. Have added few more devices and have also created the distribution adhoc certificate.

While building the app from corona i select the distribution certificate which have all the devices which are registered online for testing. But when i try to copy and paste that generated app on a particular device (another ipad for testing) it shows that it could not install the app.

Where did i go wrong.

Kindly help since i have to show the sample app to my clients and they are eagerly waiting. All are placed at different location and i cant carry my iPad for their viewing.

Thanks a lot

Re-download the provisioning licenses to be sure tgey are up to sate.
Restart corona to be sure it is using the latest licenses.
Sign up to test flight app for easy deployment.
Ensure well ahead of any demo that the target devices already have the app installed - installation should never be part of a demo (don’t book a demo until it is installed first, INHO.) [import]uid: 8271 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 99739[/import]

I have done everything still when i copy the app to another ipad it shows installation failed. I am sure something is wrong on my certification process.

I have followed all the process but still i am not able to copy the test app on another ipad.

Any guidance? What is test flight app? [import]uid: 103269 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 99744[/import]

You need the UUID from the other ipad… and create a profile. [import]uid: 86417 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 99746[/import]

testflightapp.com [import]uid: 8271 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 99750[/import]

I would expect the device ID is where things went wrong, can you check the profile in Xcode Organizer (open Xcode, press CMD+Shift+2) and see that the device is listed as one the app may be installed on?

Hi Peach,

I could not get you. On the device on my iMac there is one iPad which is already configured. On that i can see the app. But all other devices i have added on the developer platform.

Should i send you some screen shots of my certificates and Xcode

kindly suggest???

I am still confused. This is the first time that i am using corona, creating certificates and also created an app using kwik.

Help me!!

Thanks

let me tell you how this caught ME out…

I got the right UUID from a handful of iPads.
I went to the Apple site and added the devices.
I downloaded the provisioning certificate.

BUT

After adding the device, you must EDIT the provisioning profile and specifically TICK the newly added devices: it does not do that by default.
If they arent ticked, they can’t install any app created using this profile.

Then regenerate the certificate.
Download it
And double click it to get XCode to recognise it.
Then restart Corona.

Damn, yes - it’s so easy to forget that step. Catches me every time… [import]uid: 8271 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 99782[/import]

try to open xcode organizer and drag the app file to the left device folder [import]uid: 86417 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 100021[/import]

Hi Martin,

That is also not working. The main problem is that i am not able to share the .app folder with my clients for them to test. When i build it shows the its ready for distribution but when i test on another iPad it shows the app failed to sync with iTunes
Kindly suggest.

Did you add these devices to the adHoc provisioning profile then re-download it and re-add it to Xcode? I’m still not certain from what I have read above.

A screenshot with the provisioning profile selected may shed some light on this, yes. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 100030[/import]

Hi Peach,

I have done all those things. I am ready to share my screen if there is a way. how can i send you the screen shots so that you can view my Xcode screen, and also keychain and whatever is needed. Kindly suggest.

Thanks

Hi Peach,

Hi,

I have recreated all the certificates and provisional profiles as per the instructions from this link

http://www.authorstream.com/Presentation/anscamobile-509082-iphone-provisioning-setup-and-app-store-submission/
Still facing problems. The build are created properly but when i copy the .app file to an registered device (iPad) it does not install.

Kindly suggest what else needs to be checked since i can copy my app on my iPad but can forward the same to client for testing even if i have registered his device on development portal.

Kindly suggest.

Thanks

/How/ are you copying it to the iPad, explicitly?

I always register the device with testflightapp, compress the .app within a directory called Payload and rename the compressed file to .ipa (as per the instructions on testflightapp)

I believe they also have help in this area…

http://help.testflightapp.com/ [import]uid: 8271 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 100241[/import]

Hi, horacebury
No i don’t have any problems on testflightapp, thats ok, but i wanted to send the .app file which is created from corona directly to my internal people for testing so that they can sync it on their iPad with iTunes.

The process told was create the build using ad hoc distribution certificate and then send the .app file to the user whose UDID is registered on apple developer site. The user should download the .app file and copy it to his iTunes and sync and it should run! But that way its not working. First i though something is wrong with my certificates so i revoked everything and recreated but still i am not able to share the .app files for testing thru corona.

I have registered my clients iPad UDID

testflightapp is secondary option which i have started using it.

Thanks

If you are positive that your have done all the steps you need at the iTunes Connect end, then you need to delete all the downloaded certificates on your machine, and download again, then double click.
I feel 96% confident that your mac is ignoring the changes you made at the Apple end. [import]uid: 108660 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 100243[/import]

Hi Jeff,

I have done that also. I deleted all the certificates from keychain, all the keys, and as said revoked all the certificates and downloaded everything from scratch and then installed it even then the same problem.!!!

Thanks [import]uid: 103269 topic_id: 24620 reply_id: 100244[/import]
