Nothing Visible in Display on build 2011.652

Downloaded build 2011.652 on my Mac with Lion.

Launched Terminal and got a normal shell window and a big, empty, rectangular black window. When I clicked on that black window, the menu on top changes to Simulator. Went to the File menu and loaded my main.lua. Background music plays and some print() output is sent to the terminal window but none of my images or text are visible on the simulator.

I do get a warning at the top of the terminal window (before a lot of what I assume is debug info): Warning: GL_ARB_framebuffer_object is not supported, but GL_EXT_framebuffer_object is. Core Animation CAOpenGLLayer may or may not work. Please report results.

Can I do anything to get this to work or should I go back to release 2011.591?

Weird,

I just downloaded 2011.652, and for me everything is OK.
No Warnings or other odd behavior.

I’m on an iMac 27" (mid 2011) running Lion 10.7.2 [import]uid: 70847 topic_id: 17099 reply_id: 64285[/import]

I’m on 2011.591 (MacPro, Lion 10.7.1) and things are messed up as well.
As noted above, the code would run and things would print to the terminal window. Unfortunately, more often than not, no graphics would appear in the Simulator window. The only thing that seems to work most of the time is dragging the simulator to my secondary monitor.

Very disconcerting. I’m running on a Macbook 13". [import]uid: 41809 topic_id: 17099 reply_id: 64325[/import]

Hey, Corona, any response so I can get one of these builds working? [import]uid: 41809 topic_id: 17099 reply_id: 64564[/import]

This morning I got a direct response from Carlos. He confirmed the issue. Turns out it is an OpenGL driver problem and that they are working on it and Apple is aware of it as well. For now, I’ve reloaded build 591.

Thanks, Carlos. [import]uid: 41809 topic_id: 17099 reply_id: 64735[/import]

I’ve got the same problem again on a 13’ Macbook.

I am building an app for a client and am really in a rut now as it’s heavily reliant on using the Widget API.

This is my first job for a client and I tested the widget API about 4 weeks ago when I put in my initial proposal to make sure I was happy with the API and that I could develop the app.

I am now aware the widget API documentation has been rewritten
for the new widget API.

So to allow for easier upgrades in the future I decided to restart the build using the new widget API.

Now,after downloading build 2011.652 I cannot develop using the new widget API because Corona won’t start on my Macbook.

My deadline is this Friday.

Do you think the fix will be done by then? Or will I need to build the app using an old build version and then completely rewrite it at a later date when the build works.

The app is heavily reliant on segmented buttons and picker wheels to give a clear GUI.

Any advice welcome.

Thanks

Nick

I realy enjoy developing with Corona and I have 3 other apps in development which are all going well, so I hope this is just a temporary glitch.

Try the last build from 11/4/11. I think it is .656… Anyway, it fixed the display issues on my 13" MacBook. [import]uid: 41809 topic_id: 17099 reply_id: 65645[/import]

Thanks Ned, I’ll download it now and let you know how I get on.

Thanks Ned, that did the trick, all working now.
