Hello everyone.

I did give this a spin over the weekend and have the beginnings of something: Spriter stuff. Right now I’m mostly trying to turn the XML into a useful form and teasing out patterns to build utilities on top of; I’m just getting around to mainlines and timelines. If I don’t get derailed by other things, I might have something functional this coming weekend.
If this gets superseded by an official version, that’s fine. I actually have other prospective targets, so it may be a decent investment anyhow.
UPDATE : I’ve got a sprite most of the way there (and updated the above repository). Some obvious bugs remain, though I think I’ll table this for a few days and work on some other things.
I’ve just used the example file from Brashmonkey’s site, which didn’t have transient objects, so I haven’t attempted those yet. (And so far I’ve only targeted the compact spec / getting started docs.)
I’m mostly trying to shadow the Corona sprite API. [import]uid: 27791 topic_id: 33029 reply_id: 131811[/import]

Has there been any updates on this? I love Sprinter and would love to see a Corona library/framework. [import]uid: 58885 topic_id: 33029 reply_id: 138119[/import]
I am wondering as well, but it doesn’t look like Spriter has been updated in 2 months let alone progress on a module for Corona. Ideally I’d like to see the module coded using the new plugin functionality as that is lower level and likely to be more efficient and faster. Sprinter is about to be outta Alpha and into Beta this month according to the developer(Edgar/lucid). This new version should be big and is much closer to a 1.0 release. With that being said I’m worried because the Corona dev seemed to stop. I remember Corona was in talks with Sprinter/BrashMonkey a couple months ago but there was never anything said about official Corona support. I have only seen 1 project on github that demonstrated using Sprinter in Corona and that hasn’t seen any action in months. Sprinter is amazing and I hope Corona realizes this and helps to officially support it. [import]uid: 58885 topic_id: 33029 reply_id: 138151[/import]
Hey guys. We did work on this and Alex made some great progress. I believe we are just waiting for a couple of things on Spriter’s side since they made some product/API changes in the beta. Once we know more we will have more to say.

Hey All,
Really excited to see Spriter progress!
I took StarCrunch’s implementation thus far, and used it to make a video of a few animations in the Corona Simulator.

Anyone else playing with Spriter? I’d love to see your work! [import]uid: 135765 topic_id: 33029 reply_id: 138162[/import]
Hello, everyone. Just checking in. Indeed we will be out of alpha and into beta this month. We’re a bit behind schedule, but things are still progressing smoothly. There are some possible minor additions to the format to come between now and 1.0, but things are finalized for the most part. We will definitely continue to work with Corona staff to ensure support is as useful as possible. In the upcoming versions there will be alot of game specific features(aside from animation) that will make character/animation/game creation very simple and powerful. We appreciate everyone’s patience. [import]uid: 196117 topic_id: 33029 reply_id: 138167[/import]
I did mean to resume my implementation (as mentioned, even once the official version releases, I still might have some targets), but (last I checked) the docs weren’t 100% up-to-date / final, so from here on it seems like a lot of build and then cross-reference the output. This has led to laziness involved on my part, exacerbated by vacations and trying to do other late-night projects and A Memory of Light and…
Actually, if anybody has done any research and can point me at ready-made files with yet-to-be-implemented-in-Corona features (preferably just one or two such features per file, but anything works) and a working implementation to cross-reference (JS, Unity, etc.), that would be a great help. I think I have some bone stuff, so far.
r.delia, I like the additions shown in the video. [import]uid: 27791 topic_id: 33029 reply_id: 138188[/import]

Hi. An update on this.
After endless procrastination on my part, Felix Holmgren had enough and went and kicked off bones support :) :
https://github.com/Felixyz/Spriter/tree/bones
I’ll do a review before I merge it in one of these nights, but there it is in the meantime.
