Offering up help to create Spriter modular 2d animation support

It pretty much looks like Spirter is already dead.

Spine looks a lot better anyway, but many people already paid for Spriter and doesn’t look like it will be released at least any time soon.  Luckily it was only $25 so it isn’t a big deal.

@cspense,

The reports of Spriter’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. Of course we very much regret the unavoidable long delay (explained here<<<http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/539087245/spriter/posts/396549) But we are very much back on track, with another new beta build a matter of days away, with the first few Pro features added. You and all Spriter purchasers will be receiving your Spriter Pro activation codes shortly thereafter. Again, sorry for the delay.

@StarCrunch,

Thanks so much for your patience and continued work on Spriter support. Once this new build is released I’ll make the time to finish the required and overdue documentation explaining the remaining features and data structure for them. In the mean time, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

@ The entire Corona community, Thanks so much for your patience. We’re doing everything we can to make Spriter worth the wait.

Are you releasing an official Corona plugin or library to support Spriter directly?

I think Spriter dropped the ball honestly. It looked real promising until the LONG delay and the release of Spine in the interim. I was part of both kickstarter projects and was mad when Spriter failed to deliver. Anyways, Spine is amazing and seems to have taken off where Spriter left off. I liked Spriter when it was being funded, but since then it has left a bad taste in my mouth. I really hope they can get their stuff together so they can compete with Spine, but currently I think they have a TON of work to do.

Thanks for the update guys, good luck with your arm and I wish you the best.

Agree 100%, I funded both and Spine feels like it is in a whole different league. As far as I know, you are stuck making your own runtime support with Spirter, where Spine delivered all the major ones.  It also seems to do a much better job.

Hi. An update on this.

After endless procrastination on my part, Felix Holmgren had enough and went and kicked off bones support :) :

I’ll do a review before I merge it in one of these nights, but there it is in the meantime.
