Office Politics: Backstab is a fast paced wack-a-mole action game - with a twist. You follow your chosen Office sterotype and their story, backstabbing colleagues to climb up the corporate ladder. Along the way, you will fight 13 different types of enemies in 18 amazing and exotic backdrops, overcoming 6 special bosses, each with their own unique game-plays. Try all 4 difficulty modes, collect the 26 available achievements, challenge your highscore with your friends, or the rest of the world. Office Politics never seemed more fun!

Hi everyone!! Our app is finally alive on the app store. We hope you will give us your love and support. As promised to developers of Jadynut Games, we will be posting our progress of what we did since we start launching this app. Hopefully it can serve as a reference to others working on their app.

We intend to blog whenever we have time to keep record of the mistakes we made during development and also share our experiences to everyone. We understand how difficult it is to make a game app so we hope our blog can benefit those who is working on an app in the future.

To start off, our app has been launched for about a day now. We have dropped our price down from $2.99 to $0.99 as a launch promotion for a limited time.

We are currently busy sending out emails to review sites for review. We created a template we could use to send to different review sites.

Things to include for reviewers:

However, we still needed to change details to our template as each review sites requires different types of info. IMPORTANT: Some review sites have a page that tells developer what they need exactly.

Nice concept!! And it looks like a very well polished game as well!! But personally, I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time sending promo codes to review sites. Despite reading on many forums that this type of marketing doesn’t work anymore, I still did it and wasted a good number of hours sending promo codes to 35 review sites. Thanks for the comments. :slight_smile: We made lots of changes to the game 2 - 3 times before we finally reach a build we are happy about.

Yea, we did hear from others that review sites are selective on the app they review so the chances of them picking ours might be slim. However, we still wanted to try our luck as we had a friend who actually managed to get reviewed by a few sites and that pushed his sales a lot.

Hi everyone :smiley: We are currently moving up the charts!! Thanks for the support!!

Updates on what we did:

We continue to update on Facebook and Tweeter about the game. Everyday since the game was launched and a few times per day. We also started to post on different forums hoping to get noticed globally. We contacted our local newspaper to hopefully get an interview. Lol. Not sure if that would work.

We are currently doing an update and trying to get more promo codes. We will post some here as soon as we are recharged with them.

Hey everyone. It’s been almost a week now since we launched the game. Just to share what our results are so far. We have seen an upward rise in the Singapore app store charts which came as surprise. However, we aren’t doing as great in other countries. Our only theory for this is that most of our marketing and exposure is still very much local in our country. So i guess, we have to try new ways to get noticed in the other app stores.

Other things that we wanted to share was about promo codes. This is only knowledge for new developers as i am sure the veterans here already know it.

For every version, you can claim 50 promo codes at your leisure. You can get them from your Itunes connect once your app has been approved. They last for a period of 30 days if you claim them out. Because of this, we realized something very important that we should have done. Stock up on promo codes!!! 50 isn’t really enough when you are trying to market globally.

"How do i stock them up??"you say. Apple allows you to set a date for your app to release and an option to hold your app for release with every other versions you updated. It normally takes about a week for an app or update to get approval assuming you have no crashes and issues with the app. With this in mind, you can make a plan to stock up your promo codes.

What we intend to do next time was to send a 90% completed but definitely PLAYABLE build to apple for approval while we add that extra 5 - 10%. That extra percent could be graphics improvements or maybe changes you wanted to make but will need a little more time to do so.

Once your first version has been approved (hopefully within a week like ours), hold your release and send a new version to them for approval. Once your new version is approved, CLAIM ALL YOUR PROMO CODES FROM YOUR PREVIOUS VERSION FIRST BEFORE RELEASING YOUR NEW VERION. This is very important so please take note. So there you have it, a total of 100 promo codes to use.

Oh, just in case, this is an info for any new developers. We use a few things to track our progress (ranking, sales, etc) so thought i did just share them here.

Iphone app:
AppStatics - allows you to check your app if it is within the top 300

Websites:

Hmm, That’s odd. Doesn’t seem like anyone is taking any promo codes here. I am doing this in the wrong place?
