Hi everyone,
need some advice. so im almost finished with my first app (game) and as we know, iOS 5.1 has changed things up a bit, to say the least.
i have an older macbook (2006) and im unable to upgrade to Lion/xcode 4.3. i really dont want to shell out another 1K for a new macbook.
am i able to build just for iphone using what i currently have?
would i have to download an older corona daily build? i understand the main problem lies with the new ipad, and that the phones/ipad1,2 are not affected.
if i build for iphone, will it scale on thge ipad3 if the user presses (x2)
thanks in advance

Hi Niko,
i was in the same situation, my 2006 macbook had 1gb of ram and wouldn’t upgrade to lion.
if you do want to upgrade however, unofficially those macbooks will take 3gb* of ram so i just went to Other World Computing http://www.macsales.com
and got 3gb for $50. a lot cheaper than a new mac…and lion works just fine.
*you can actually put 4gb in , but it’ll only see 3 and a bit…

thanks, but the problem im facing is that the processor is not dual core (early 2006), so incompatible with lion according to Apple…i will research to memory though. thx again [import]uid: 34595 topic_id: 23749 reply_id: 95518[/import]
ahh, sorry, mine was a late 2006… curses…

Hey Nikos,
Have you consider macincloud for build time? I know a few of our devs use it, could save you some $$$$ and headaches.
