I am planning to teach an intro to programming course at a local school. We have a “computer lab” with 16 Mac minis (running 10.5.8) and about 30 macbooks running 10.6.8. Is there an older version of the SDK available that will run on either of these platforms, or do I have to upgrade to 10.7?

I too am having the same problem; teaching on older Macs that can’t upgrade to Mac 10.7 so am seeking an older version of Corona to run on Mac 10.6.

now you won’t be able to release any apps with most of the older version cause of requirements set by apple and google and maybe corona but the sims should work.
