One star rating overload

Okay so my app Guess the Song was the first app I made with Corona in like 2010. It was REALLY bad. You tapped a play icon and then checked off if you guessed it right. However, a recent update was approved that makes the app way better, with great graphics, tons of songs, and a better input system.

The app is number 28 on iPhone Top Music Paid, but I think people are turned off by the ratings, although they were from a previous version. In a previous version I had like 6 one star ratings.

I would provide promo codes but you cant rate apps after using them.

However I’m wondering if there is a better solution. Is there any way I can contact the people who rated the old app one star and say “Hey you, play version 2 and re-rate my app!” or is the best way to try to get 5 star ratings to overwhelm the others?

The best way to get a good rating is to “overwhelm” the low ones, as you said. You can’t contact reviewers, no.
