@chris your installs are low… are you marketing your game at all?
I like the controls and the zooming. The competition model is clever with the ghost opponent. It makes me want to win every time.
Do you plan to monetize the app. I see only one ad space on the pre-game player screen. Will you be adding IAP’s?
@Shere Game Studios I am marketing free and paid. installs are picking up and haven’t yet reflected on Google Play yet. But downloads is more that what it says… But any advise to get more is always welcome. I guess that’s the big question always?
@sporkfin thanks very much. There are interstials before races, which randomly show every 5 or so races, and rewarded ads on the menu screen to collect coins. Hence I introduced nitros as an added bonus for collecting coins. There is IAP to remove ads, and buy coins if you don’t have enough for cars or nitros
Hey guys, based on alot of feedback, i have added a new game mode without nitros. there is now separate leaderboards for each track, with and without nitros. the game mode an be changed in the settings menu.
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.razmobi.onetaprally
iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/one-tap-rally/id1226941641?ls=1&mt=8
I like it
The touch controls take some getting used to, but very entertaining.
It feels a bit weird that it’s possible to drive over (or through) the other car though…
Thanks, Yeah it is weird the driving through the opponent, The reason i could not add collision between the two cars is the whole game opponents is real players that set their own times in other races, where you challenge other peoples races to try top the leaderboard, so the opponent car follows the path set by the other player in their fastest race, and if it gets knocked off that path, then it would not be the same path they created. so i had to make them non collide-able, Thanks for checking it out Will add more soon like a visual representation of the leaderboard for each track, acheivements etc. and iOS version.
Aha, in that case it makes perfect sense.
I’ll continue playing
BTW, will each car have its own characteristics (top speed, corner handling etc)?
I do have the parameters set for each car, only have set all handling and speed to the same at the moment. I thought it might be better just to have everyone on an even playing field that way the leaderboards will be based on skill. But can also easily change the Params for each car to have their own handling and speed, I was initially going to do that and then charge more coins for faster cars for example. Do you think that would work better?
Just added an update with the leaderboard functionality for each track. you can now choose who you want to race through the leaderboard.
Very nice looking game. Keep us apprised of your progress.
Rob
Thank you rob will do, hoping to have the iOS beta out in the next few days… Android version now has leaderboards for each track where you can choose who you want to race.
iOS Beta is now up, pm me let me know your email address if you want to beta test the iOS version and i can add you to testflight.
Android beta test is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.razmobi.onetaprally
Cheers guys.
Amazing. Really like the controls, I think they are very easy to get used to.
The amount of ads is perfect as well. This will be a success, congratz!
Thanks so much Felix just got a shout out at toucharcade http://toucharcade.com/2017/04/17/multiplayer-racing-game-one-tap-rally-is-looking-for-beta-testers/ so now more beta testers are coming on board so hopefully it will fill up the leaderboards for each track
Yeah, I saw, I am already not more close to being fist
Did you register every track as a seperate leaderboard in the game services??
haha me too! and i created it :o
I actually am using my own backend i created for leaderboards, the problem is not everyone logs in with gpgs, and i didn’t implement gpgs on iOS, but i wanted both Android and iOS to use the same leaderboards so created my own so the multiplayer is cross platform.
i do have gpgs leaderboards for other things like most wins, etc, just haven’t implemented the code for that yet.
Ah I see.
Makes sense.
I assumed it is the google leaderboards because of the google play center image…
Great job, once again!
Hei Chris,
I just played your game again and I found two bugs:
-
When the sound is turned off there is still one sound, the sound of the two cars drifting away before entering the first race.
-
When restarting the game from the pause menu there seems to be invisible obstacles on the track.I played the themepark: 3 track.
It kinda felt as if there was a invisible second track slightly misplaced over the real track. (Does that make sense? :D)
And as a note, my wife thought the sound of the car very anoying, even with the volume very low. (She has sensible ears, to be honest, but you might think about another sound or maybe master the current one a little bit more to be less agressive…)
Best,
Felix
Felix B. You are a legend! One other tester told me they had that problem where it felt like the walls had moved a little, i had been scratching my head trying to replicate it. but after you mentioning the restart race i believe i tracked down the bug and fixed it. thank you!
Also fixed the issue with sound on the menu screen when sound is off.
And with the engine sound, yes, i had a few people telling me it was annoying, some said they didnt mind, i was trying to go with a 8 bit engine sound to go with the top down theme. but a few people have mentioned it so i have jst updated it to a new more nice on the ear engine now.
All these are now in the latest beta update thanks again Felix!
