Am I the only one that noticed the docs for OpenFeint are out of date as well as Corona uses and old version? Are we missing out? Also is Game Center ever going to be fully supported? [import]uid: 104852 topic_id: 18565 reply_id: 318565[/import]
Ansca recently saw the light regarding Game Center and it’s now on the high priority list. Though if it’s not done in about 3 months from now I would say it’d be time to get aggressive about it again.
I would like to see OpenFeint kept up to date too, but including it in your game(s) pretty much guarantees Apple will not choose to promote or highlight it (since you’re using a competitor’s product). I plan on removing OpenFeint from my iOS games once native Game Center is available. Though I’d like to keep it around for Android. However, Ansca has a partnership with Papaya (OpenFeint’s main competition on Android), so I would not expect OpenFeint to be given the proper attention moving forward. I would strongly suggest that rather than deciding to “get aggressive about it again”, you consider writing down your thoughts and feelings and actually sending them in to the team via email/one of the support forms.
Obviously you have strong feelings about it but articulating them properly is half the battle.
This is just my personal advice; I’ve found it gets things done much more efficiently and I know this is important to you.

@Peach you may very well be right about contacting the team with e-mails or support forms. I may very well try that in the future. I did not feel such an approach would make a difference in this case.
Ansca had its own thread up asking us for our feedback on Game Center and tons of people replied (a year ago) - the GameON thread. That gives a strong impression that we cared about it getting done. Those people were completely ignored as Game Center was pushed off over and over. That demonstrated to me that you were ignoring your customers that had posted/made their thoughts known in the appropriate place.

Hey again,
Honestly, I get why you would feel that way - but I guarantee you the team cares very, very much about what the community wants. They work long hours to try and get everything done but sometimes features or bug fixes are pushed back, for whatever reason. (Often there are other factors here, sometimes external.)
It’s a top priority as you mentioned now and that means everyone is doing all they can to make it happen.
I’m sorry you felt ignored but this was not the case - if Ansca ignored you it wouldn’t be on the top priority list.
All I can say is hang in there a little longer and if you feel the need to express yourself on the issue a thoughtful, articulate letter is (in my personal experience) a good way of getting things done.
