OpenSSL Plugin - SSL/TLS Support

The library (lua-openssl) the current OpenSSL Plugin is based on doesn’t support SSL/TLS.

Are there plans on providing an OpenSSL PlugIn that does support secure sockets SSL/TLS (for non-HTTPS TCP or UDP network traffic?) Like LuaSec?

Hi,

Can some one from Coronalabs comment on this?  I also need SSL/TLS.  Why not add a plugin for Luasec?

I urgently need this functionality for a secure websocket implementation.

Thanks.

I’m asking the team how hard this would be to do. It’s certainly easier to do now that we have OpenSSL. Hopefully there’s no conflict between luasocket and luasec.

Walter,

Thank you.

Walter,

Do you have an update on adding Luasec to the OpenSSL plugin?

Thanks.

Nathan.

Anyone from Corona - any updates on this? Is there an issue with providing Luasec?

I noticed this in one of the recent daily builds… Maybe they will be supporting it soon?

"CoronaSDK 2013.1138

  • Add luasec’s core functionality to luasocket. This is currently unused."

Hi @mbrennan,

LuaSec is now implemented in the OpenSSL plugin, but it’s available only to Pro subscribers at this time. I’ve updated the blog post on OpenSSL here:

Thank you. I am a pro subscriber, not sure why the forums doesn’t think I am.

Will be testing this weekend.

Brent,

Great news. Thanks. I will also give it a whirl this weekend.

Nathan.

Hi Brent,

The blog post states that theres two sample projects for openSSL: “The OpenSSL plugin includes two samples: “ general ” and “ luasec"

But i can’t seem to find them anywhere. Any ideas?

Thanks

Jamie

@TandG: The OpenSSL samples are here:
