OS X Builds - what plugins are enabled?

Hi, I’m starting the process of getting a couple of my games ready for OS X.  I assume libs such as the store (IAP) work no problem.  Curious though about these, or when they might be available:

  • GameAnalytics
  • OneSignal
  • Facebook (publishInstall)

Thanks,

Nate

Hi! I help work on OneSignal so I can answer your question about our plugin at least.

Unfortunately we don’t support OS X notifications in Corona yet. We don’t have a specific timeline to add support for this, but let us know if this is an important feature for you and we’ll prioritize it based on how much you & other developers would like to have this feature.

In general, if it works in the Simulator on the platform in question, it will work in desktop apps on that platform.

Availability of third party plugins is up to the third parties in question.  If not for the actual plugin then for the platform support. For example, Facebook’s SDK only supports mobile devices (as do Flurry and OneSignal).

We’ll take stock as this changes.

I think I can do without OneSignal and GameAnalytics, but one I hadn’t mentioned yet is GameCenter.   Both GameCenter and the store API - will those both work for OS X?  Neither work in the Corona Sim, but in the Xcode Sim they do…  I just haven’t had a chance to dig into this quite yet but would like to.  But if IAPs aren’t supported yet for OS X builds then I’m gonna hold off (my game is heavily IAP-supported).  GameCenter I can do without if it’s not quite ready but the store API is crucial…

The Xcode iOS Simulator is simulating iOS which is why they work there.

Right now, neither GameCenter or IAP are supported for OS X desktop apps.  They’re on the list but I can’t say when they will be available.

Ah… bummer :frowning:  Was hoping IAP was set up…  any idea how high IAP is in the priority list?  Personally, I’d much rather have IAP set up for OS X apps before any other plugin.   Thanks.

Hi Perry or other Corona Staff…  just curious if you’re able to share when IAP will be supported in OSX builds.  I’d like to submit a few games in the near future and need to make some high-level decisions about how to handle IAP-related content in my game.  I could just include all premium content and raise the price of the game, which is an option.  If IAP support is currently in development, I might wait and keep IAPs in my game intact…

Thanks,

Nate

We haven’t scheduled any work on IAP for OS X yet so I can’t say when it might be available.

Hi Perry (or Rob, other Corona guys) - would any of you be able to provide a roadmap or list of plugins that will be available soon for OS X builds?  I didn’t see an “OSX” category in the feedback/feature request page.   I’m very interested in if the store API will be available soon…  I do see that iCloud (beta) is apparently available for iOS, tvOS and OSX… haven’t tried it yet for OSX but will very soon.

Thanks!

Nate
