Other ways to sell Android apps than Google Play

Okay - with no warning, Google suspended my merchant account because apparently I hadn’t filled in some information they wanted with a company address etc. They also haven’t paid me for apparently the same issue, which has obviously been pretty frustrating.

I never received the e-mail they claim they sent requesting this info and there were no alerts in my account when I logged in so I had no idea this was coming. Up until then I had been selling apps and receiving payments no problem.

Communicating with them is difficult (no contact number so all done by e-mail) and we have a major PR campaign going out next month which I’ve already paid for so I have to be able to offer Android versions of our apps or we’re going to look pretty useless.

So - I already sell on Amazon but aside from that can anyone recommend anywhere else other than Google Play?

Anyone else had similar experiences and sorted it out - please share!

Thanks,

Ian

EDIT: Google actually got back to us pretty quickly by e-mail in the end and sorted this out - in fairness they were pretty responsive when we impressed upon them the urgency of the situation from our point of view.

They still require some info about  your company, but I’ll let you evaluate whether selling with them works for you.

Since you’re using Amazon, don’t forget the Barnes & Noble store too.

Also Opera is now running a store.

Thanks for the replies guys. Much appreciated.

Google have now reinstated my account - actually pretty quickly.

I’ll look into these other options too though - worth having the apps listed in as many places as possible.

Frustrating that I can’t list directly in the Nook store - you need a US bank account / tax ID and we’re based in the UK.

Thanks,

Ian
