Override windows simulator new 'suspended' state behavior

Hi,

Build 2121 added the following to the windows simulator: “added graphical display of suspended state”. So now, when I click ‘suspend’ in the simulator, I get a grey screen with ‘suspended’ text in the middle.

My problem is that i always suspend the app when i want to take screenshots for app marketing. Because most of my scenes contain transitions, taking a screenshot without suspending the app would make the screenshots look horrible.

With the above change, i can’t take screenshots. For now, i reverted to build 2119 (the latest build without this modification) to take screenshots. But for future use, is there a way to override the new simulator behavior regarding the suspended state or am i stuck with build 2119?

Also, @Rob, is there a way to ask the corona engineers to make the new behavior a preference that can be disabled in the simulator?

Many thanks

Luay

I understand what you are asking.  I would recommend going to http://feedback.coronalabs.com and adding a request there.  Then post the link back here.  That way it’s in the tracker and I’ll prod them.

@Rob,

Thanks. I have done as you asked. Here is the link: http://feedback.coronalabs.com/forums/188732-corona-sdk-feature-requests-feedback/suggestions/5355076-make-the-graphical-display-of-suspended-state-in-w

Just realised after reading this post that I can no longer take screenshots on Windows Simulator because of this.

I have just added my votes to this.

It should be very easy for the Corona team to implement this, as it was this way for a long time previously.

I encourage others who use Windows to take their screenshots to vote this up too!

We have some good news for all who want to take screenshots in the Corona Simulator. Starting with build 2141 you can now suspend the simulator without showing the suspend screen. The trick is to hold down the Shift key when selecting Suspend in Hardware menu. This works on both Windows and Mac.

Excellent. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

This is great, but the only problem (at least that I noticed) is that holding Shift and the pressing Cntl+Down Arrow does nothing. My game is a bit more fast-paced and clicking on the Hardware menu isn’t an option. Should I file a feedback request or a bug report? Thanks!
