Does anyone know if there is a way in Corona to control the panning of sounds on the iPhone?
I can’t find any audio.setPan or anything similar. [import]uid: 28446 topic_id: 5702 reply_id: 305702[/import]
Sorry, right now we don’t provide an official API for panning. Exposing the 3D features of OpenAL (which would include panning) is on our radar, but we are trying to figure out the best way of Corona-fying the API.

Thanks for your quick reply - I’ll be looking forward for panning to come up.
I’m working with sound-only computer games for blind children and have just started to explorer the potential of Corona to create sound-only apps. [import]uid: 28446 topic_id: 5702 reply_id: 19518[/import]
So a loaded mono sound will always play in the center, true? While a loaded stereo file will play, well in stereo. Then a way to “simulate” simple panning could be to use a stereo file with f.i. a sound panned to the left and silence in the right? I know it’s not a hi-tech solution but I’ll try it out. Yes, that is correct. A mono sound will play in the center, and a stereo sample should play in stereo (provided you have stereo speakers/headphones). I would expect your trick to work.
