I’m thinking of creating an app that would allow me to read, mark up, annotate, and copy text from a .PDF. I’d like to be able to create both desktop and mobile versions. Before I dive too far into it, would it be possible to create such an app with Corona?
I have a plugin that allows you to convert pdf to image and image to pdf. It currently only works on iOS and Android. https://marketplace.coronalabs.com/plugin/pdf-image-converter
I would be pretty easy to bring it to Mac from iOS but probably won’t do windows desktop.
@Scott, thanks for this; I’ll check it out, though I’m not sure that’ll completely do what I’m hoping for. Ideal would be something that would enable me to read the text layer of a PDF while leaving the PDF intact. I’d want people to be able to highlight and copy the text from the PDF like they are able to do with an app like Skim.
