Hello,
Did anybody maybe have a chance to test and compare performance between iPad 1, NOOK Color or Tablet and Kindle Fire ? I am considering whether the app that struggles to maintain 60 fps on iPad1 can run smoothly on these other tablets, and couldn’t find any useful performance tests or benchmarks.
Thanks

Nook Color < Kindle Fire < Nook Tablet
You can’t really compare the iPad to the Android tablets since Android is a completely different OS an they handle app’s differently.

@Jordan, that is true, however you can still say “well this code which achieves X frames on iPad, performs with Y frames on Nook Color or Z frames on Kindle Fire…”
At least when Corona (or any other cross-platform) SDK is in question.
Basically I have a few apps that I am considering porting to these platforms, and they are both a bit demanding, playing smoothly on iPad 1, but barely. If Nook and Kindle fire are *much* slower than iPad 1, then it will not make any sense trying to port the app in the first place, and even less paying for these two devices.
That’s why I asked for some first-hand experience on how the performance of these two tablets (or 3 if we consider Nook Tablet also) is perceived compared to same code on iPad. [import]uid: 80100 topic_id: 26753 reply_id: 108558[/import]
See that’s why the forums are great, just post the APK on the forums and someone like me will install them on the Nook and Kindle
you don’t need to buy a device, just have others give you feedback! [import]uid: 29181 topic_id: 26753 reply_id: 108559[/import]
Hello guys,
I am about to release a game on B&N and boy when I test on my Nook Color the performance is really poor. It works fine, but I am a bit reluctant about releasing it for Nook Color. I know that Nook Tablet has a bit more power, so I might just release it on Nook Table instead. Not sure yet.
@Jordan, do you have Nook Tablet? I only have Nook Color. If you have Nook Tablet, would you mind test my game and see how it works on it, please? Also, do you know of any work arounds to make things a bit smoother, codewise, for Nook Color? I mean, physics tricks, optimazation, etc? Any feedbacks are highly appreciated.

@magadistudio if you have a Kindle Fire, or friend that has a Kindle Fire, test it on that device. The Nook Tablet is slightly faster than the Kindle Fire. The Nook Color has always been a slow device, and most games wont run well on it. If you want me to test it I can, just send me the apk.

Hello @jordan,
Thanks for the prompt reply. I really appreciate it. Yes, I do have a Kindle fire. In that case then I have a reference point when it comes to performance comparison with NC, NT and KF.
Thanks for offering to test my game on your device. That’s very nice of you.
