Performance Problems

It seems that with newer releases of Corona SDK that performance has dropped off quite a bit.   My game built with 2830 and later is lagging too much.

I’ve cut out most of my code from my game loop, and I’m not spawing any enemies, just a player ship on a map to see if it is on my side, but nothing I do is increasing the performance.

Any suggestions or are other people experiencing performance issues?
