Physics fps Increase on Touch

Thanks for the update Tom.

Does anyone know when this release is set to launch or at least a timeframe when it could be released?

Thanks,

Also having the same problem. But it seems as if the fps increase is caused by how i touch the screen. if i concentrate to point exactly on the touch-point and hold the phone straight, it happens rarely. but as soon as the viewing angle of my phone isn’t straight and the finger doesn’t touch the point perfectly, the fps increase happens drastically. this happens if i want to show someone a game for example.
Any update or fix in sight soon? This year? [import]uid: 11219 topic_id: 2401 reply_id: 11027[/import]

benlebt yes everyone else is having precisely the same problem- on touch the screen updates sooner than it should (android only).

I asked Carlos when we can expect a fix after his webinar on friday and he said he would ask around on monday. There is also this ticket filed:

It appears that this problem was largely fixed in the SDK that was released yesterday.

There is no longer an obvious change in the speed of the game on touch on my droid x.

I am still able to cause choppy drawing behavior via touches but its no where near as bad as it was a few days ago.

I have the reverse problem.

On a G1 running 1.6 the game slows to a crawl when I touch and hold.

Other games, like the Bullet Demo also have the same problem: Touch and hold slows the framerate to a crawl.

I’ve also tried running Android 2.2 on the G1 and I get the same result; slowness on touch. [import]uid: 8741 topic_id: 2401 reply_id: 14079[/import]
