physics object slowly falls through another object instead of stoppping

So I have a weird issue.

I have a series of Joints connected.

A rotate joint is holding a beam which then should rest on a surface to hold it horizontal. My issue is that as soon as I make the pivot point (where the rotation is connected to) a dynamic object instead of a static one, it rests on the holding object and then slowly falls “through” it instead of resting on it.

I’ve tried to change the densities, damepning values of one or both parts but I just can’t seem to make it hit the object and then not rotate thorugh it. How can gravity be so strong on a rotating object that it can slowly push it through an object?

It’s an unintuitive problem, especially since just changing the topper or the rotator to Static instead of Dynamic causes the issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi - I’m seeing something similar. I created 100 boxes (10x10) and let them drop on a static bar under normal gravity. Instead of remaining stacked at the box boundaries they slowly squish into each other. See the attached image. Tried to change all of the physics objects settings (friction, bounce, density, shape) and other settings (gravity, etc…).
