Play store review

Hi,

Can someone share his experience of Google Play store in comparison with Amazon and/or Nook stores?
Any specific marketing tip(s) would be great.

Thanks,

I don’t have a valid Android device that can shop there so I can’t speak from the user side.

From the developer side, the interface to create apps and upload them is one of the easier ones to use. Apps go live right away (no approval process) but can still take up to 24 hours to show up in search and be found on Google Play.

It is by far the worse sales performer, but I’m horrible at marketing, [import]uid: 19626 topic_id: 30321 reply_id: 121502[/import]

I was only looking from the developer’s side as I have so far the same worst experience with my one app. that is live.

But you can see some not-so-good paid apps. with 10K+ downloads so am wondering if those are only results of smart marketing? Is there an option to put the app. for sale (free) for a limited time?

Hope someone with better results can chime in. [import]uid: 163920 topic_id: 30321 reply_id: 121557[/import]

It has to do with marketing. Given that I do the same marketing for Android that I do for the other platforms and Google Play is a solid order of magnitude or two less than the Kindle Fire and Nook markets (and I don’t market hardly at all). I’m not surprised my performance is horrible.

But I know the iOS world better and I have no clue where I need to be posting about my apps and stuff to promote them on Android.

Completely lost on this one as well. Especially when it comes to kids apps on Google Play. [import]uid: 79834 topic_id: 30321 reply_id: 121749[/import]

my google play sales are by far the smallest of all the markets.

i’ve done the standard/low amount of marketing- sending it out to review sites, tweeting now and again. i have 2 nice reviews out there on smallish review sites (the iphone mom and appysmarts), for whatever that’s worth.

but, all of the other stores totally surpass google play sales. i think you need to put in a concentrated, market-specific effort to sell a lot on the play… or have a different app than me :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: i’ve noticed different types of apps tend to sell at differing ratios to the markets (ie educational apps sell better on the nook than games*)

Currently my Google Play sale are 3.4% of my total sales, haha.

Google Play and Garbage is the same almost IMHO.

So, I think you have to “gym” a lot to get something from there besides the hackers.
Anyway,
It`s my own opinion.
